September Program a Trip to France

The "Artz Tour de France 2" artists took us on a trip to Paris and rural France last night at our program. We enjoyed brie, chocolate mousse, wine, photos and paintings. It gave those that went on the trip a chance to re-live the adventure!  There will be a November/December art exhibit of the French work at the Henriott Group gallery, 250 Main St., suite 650.

2015 Juried Show - September Monthly Meeting

This is a big week for the WVAS.  Monday is the drop off for art for the 2015 juried show.  Drop off is between 2 - 6 at Tippecanoe Arts Association, Wells Community Center, 683 North Street.  The juror for the show is Al Pounders who currently has an exhibit at the Art Museum of Greater Lafayette.  His bio for that exhibit:

Al Pounders, Professor Emeritus of painting at Purdue University, received his B.F.A. from Cornell University and taught drawing and painting for 30 years at Purdue retiring as a Full Professor.  Over his long and distinguished career, he has exhibited his paintings around the world.  This exhibition will feature many large-scale paintings inspired by his love of the mountain landscapes of Italy.

The opening reception for the show is Friday, September 18th at 7:00pm at TAF.

The September 15th program features the artists that spent 16 days painting in France the month of June.  The "Artz Tour de France 2" group will share paintings, journals, photos, anecdotes and French snacks for an enjoyable evening "in Paris!"

The artists are preparing an exhibit for the months of November and December of their French work that will be open to the public at the Henriott Group gallery, 6th floor, 250 Main Street, Lafayette. They will have some of their paintings at the Tuesday evening program.
