Flowers and Still Life

I was recently at the Denver Art Museum and saw In Bloom: Painting Flowers in the Age of Impressionism. The exhibit is over but you can still peruse the info on it: http://denverartmuseum.org/exhibitions/bloom

Among other lovelies, it included this one by Vincent van Gogh

and this Manet:

One really fun addition to this exhibition was that it included scents of specific types of flowers as well as freshly dug earth. You could smell these throughout the exhibition rooms. There was also a whole wall from which different scents were flowing. And you could snag a small scratch and sniff card to take away.

With my interest in still life, I have been poking around looking for resources and examples, and I came across this blog:

Although there are not regular postings on the blog, there are plenty of postings in the archives, including some on contemporary artists working in the genre. Following is one by Laura Jones, an Australian artist.
